Sometimes acne and pimples can be mistaken for boils. Hence, it is very important to determine the root cause or main reason and the exact nature of the skin condition, before choosing a treatment method.
Some boils are contagious and some boils are not.
1. Causes of BOILS
* Low resistance, physical weakness, and shabby conditions may cause boils.
* A faulty lifestyle, stressful conditions, and an unbalanced diet increase the risk of toxic substances in the bloodstream. This may cause boils on the skin.
Inadequate Hygiene: Bad personal hygiene may have a role in the formation of boils. Regular skin cleansing reduces the risk of infection and assists in preventing the formation of bacteria.
2. Symptoms of Boils
* A painful red nodule appears on the skin. This nodule grows bigger and pus accumulates in the middle of it.
* It causes itching and irritation.
* It may be many boils or a single boil in the same area.
* When the boils get ripened burst out and pus discharge mixed with blood oozes out.
* Sometimes it may even contract fever.
3. Home Remedies For Boils
1. Grind cumin seeds (Jeera) in water. to make a fine paste of it. Apply this paste to the boils. It gives positive results.
2. Take a teaspoon of garlic and onion juice. Apply it to the boils and ripen, evacuate, and break the pus.
3. Roast a rhizome of turmeric. Mix the ashes in water. Apply it to boils.'
4. Boil ajmoda (Parsley) in water till it is soft and tender. When it is still bearably hot, wrap it in a clean muslin cloth. Apply it to the boils as a poultice.
5. Take a teaspoon of fresh milk cream. Add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder, and one teaspoon of vinegar, mix, and apply this mixture to the affected areas.
6. Drink a glass of karela (Bitter gourd) juice mixed with 1 teaspoon each of ginger and lemon juice, every day for two weeks on an empty stomach. This mixture acts as a blood purifier.
7. Apply castor oil on a paan (betel leaf) and gently warm it over a candle flame. Apply the oily side of it on the boil and loosely tie it with a cloth to keep it in place. Change the leaf every 2 hours. The boil will rupture and drain out.
8. Soak a cotton swab in a raw egg yolk. Apply it to the swollen boil. Let it dry. Wash it with antibacterial warm water and soap. Repeat this two to three times daily. The boil ruptures within one or two days.
